RESIDUAL

Terms of use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These terms cover residualauto.com and everything Residual publishes or sells through it. By using the site, you agree to them.

Our published figures

The figures on our free pages are compiled by Residual from recorded auction sales. They include salvage-value medians, sales counts, and the tables by model year, damage and title.

You may quote or cite individual figures, for example in an article, a claim file or a post. Include the figure's sales count and date range, credit Residual, and link to the page it came from.

You may not:

To license our data, write to info@residualauto.com.

Estimates, reports and the API

Lookups, Comparable sales, Residual Reports and API responses are for the person or organisation that runs or buys them. A Report is written to be shared between the parties to a claim, and you may share it for that purpose. You may not resell what we provide, republish it, or collect it in bulk or by automated means outside the API.

What our numbers are

Our numbers are market value estimates and measured sale prices, for information. They are not an appraisal under any state's law, are not prepared by a licensed appraiser, and are not legal, insurance or claims advice. Every estimate has a range, and some sales fall outside it. We update our figures as new sales are recorded and keep dated versions of what we publish. The site and everything on it are provided as is, without warranties of any kind.

Payments

Paid products are flat-fee and are charged through Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. If you start a free trial of a paid plan, such as Pro, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. You can cancel anytime from your account.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Residual is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and law

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. They are governed by the laws of Massachusetts.
